My Experience With OSGeo And GCI

    My Experience With OSGeo and GCI On November 28,2017 I registered on Google Code In website which gives high school students an opportunity to get to know about Open Source by completing small sized tasks for the participating Organizations . This year about 25 organizations participated and OSGeo (Open Source Geospatial Foundation) was one of it.  OSGeo is serving as an umbrella to other Geospatial organizations such as Grass GIS , QGIS , MapServer , gvSIG , pgRouting , Open Layers and many more. I really enjoyed working with OSGeo as the community was really helpfull, Mentors was really working hard to help us Thank You Mentors and other students working with OSGeo, Like Ethan Zhao for Helping me! I still remember that I mistakenly claimed an beginner task of an other organization on first day, so I was only able to do 1 beginner task for OSGeo.  I completed 71 tasks in total and 70 for OSGeo.     Tasks Compl...

GCI WRAP UP BLOG WITH OSGeo Hello Everyone! Google Code In , is going to end in 2 days and Last date of claiming last tasks is tomorrow( Jan 15. 2018), Hoping your GCI went great. When GCI started I was very nervous to some extend, but since, with OSGeo I find ways to turn my nervousness into creativity and fun.  When I saw that OSGeo is participating in GCI-17, I Just dived into it. As it is Based on Open Source Geospatial Foundation and I love mapping, so i can say that this org was for me. I really enjoyed contributing to OSGeo. My Experience Participating in GCI was super exciting and at the end, I discovered that I come to know about Open Source and Geospatial and  gained some experience in the Open Source world. I learned a lot of things and got to know about my skills. I communication skills are also improving. I learned Git and GitHub and created my own website with Github. GCI Week7 With OSGeo Hello, Everyone! GCI week 7 is here, it is very sad to say that only 6 days left until competition closes. So, let's dive into todays Google Code In Week7 with OSGeo Blog! So, the Week start with an amazing email from Google Code In: And I have a Good News, our organization OSGeo has successfully completed 500+ tasks, remember last week's blog, at that time our organization completed 370+ tasks, and now it's 500+, quite fast. GCI Week6

Google Code In Week6 with OSGeo Hello Everyone, finally it's 2018, so Happy New Year 2018. Hope you last year went good and this year goes great. So, lets get into Google Code In week 6 blog with OSGeo!                                  Everything was going Good and Great but unfortunately a very sad thing arrived, the Week 6 which is the second last week of Google code In and GCI is going to end in 11 days but I don't want it to be ended because getting interacted with OSGeo team and making all the team friends and learning more and more. And a good thing is i can join then anytime on their IRC channel.  I really enjoyed helping other students on our IRC channel.
